Who is 'Jason LaGrasse'?
Really, no more than a savant of knowledge at heart.
Getting people to know me has been a great hurdle for me, standing menacingly in the way, beckoning to be overcome.
Socially awkward to the core, I have lived a mostly internal life. Left with fascinating thoughts to muse about, I developed esoteric interests in writing, philosophy, psychology, and most of all... Gaming!
Yes yes, like much of my generation, I was raised off of video games. Beginning with retro powerhouses such as the Nintendo64 and the Gamecube, paving way for advanced consoles like the Nintendo Wii and the PlayStation4, one would efortlessly find that I can, and will, expatiate incessantly on the wondrous fantasy landscapes of video games.
Around the age of 12, my tastes shifted from Nintendo consoles and handhelds to PC gaming. Thus began my nascent journey into the world of technology.
Video Games were a gateway into dangerous knowledge... Programming!
Some of the PC games I greatly enjoyed were 'World of Warcraft', 'League of Legends', 'The Sims', and of course, 'Minecraft'.
Modding Minecraft was my initial foray into working with files. Learning to unzip files, navigate directories, and edit code was all part of the program, get it?
I learned how to complete this task the same way I learned web development... the self taught way. Youtube videos, google searches, surfing through pages, upon pages of docs. I had no clue at the time that I was propogating such a valuable skill set.
I never lost interest in video games. Even now, at spry age of 25, I play video games whenever I can afford the time.
World of Warcraft has always been my favorite. I am an active, working gear in a notorious raiding guild, and actively contribute to maintaining the guild both in the game itself, and in virtual environments aside from Azeroth.
Working with a community of online people with amicable communication skills to create a intricate online organization helped me devlop another key skillset: Teamwork.
I shortly and surely realized that game development was the pot of gold at the end of my gilded programming road.
Through thick and thin, I realized that hard work and research were the catalysts to success and achieving my manifold goals.
Now, I write code every day, because that's simply what I want to do! I actually feel unfulfilled, torpid even, on a day when no code is written on my devices. So why would I not pursue it for a living?
The myriad interests assailing my mind every day only motivate me to create innovative applications even more.
It goes further than a desire to play and create games... My love of reading and writing inspired my first full stack application, my love of quizzes inspired my second, and there are so many more ideas in incubation, simply waiting to hatch.
So in reality, who truly is 'Jason LaGrasse'? Well to scratch the surface, a twenty five year old man from Long Island, New York, with a passion for anything scientific and intellectual.
But in a deeper mode of thought, who truly is this concept of 'Jason LaGrasse'? That concept is a dream, one which can only be brought to fruition through means of learning and coding. A dream that the world has yet to see.
